Bring the small tasks into the fitting
Try the jacket zip, vest closure, flask valve and pocket you use most often. Work with the actual items rather than pinching your fingers together and assuming that proves dexterity. A glove can feel flexible yet make a short zip pull difficult to locate. Check both hands, including the one you use less confidently.
Look at fingertip space and how the material sits when you bend the fingers. Extra fabric can catch in a closure, while an overly tight fit may make movement uncomfortable. Use the size guidance as a starting point, then perform the tasks. If the glove only works after pulling it partly off, acknowledge that limitation instead of calling the fitting complete.
Decide what can wait for a stop
You do not need to operate every item while running. Plan to stop safely for a phone, map or awkward closure. Test the sequence of taking a glove off, storing it securely and putting it back on. A glove tucked loosely under a strap can be lost while you concentrate on the device. Choose a consistent pocket or intended retaining arrangement.
If a phone-compatible fingertip is advertised, try it with your screen and any protective cover. Compatibility with a bare screen does not guarantee the same result through another layer. Keep a way to complete essential tasks without depending on a feature you have not tested. Do not let a stubborn screen draw attention away from where you are standing.
Check the whole clothing combination
Put the glove cuff together with the jacket sleeve and watch if worn. Notice bunching, exposed gaps and difficulty reaching a control. Repeat after the vest is loaded, since access to a pocket may become more restricted. A glove that fits by itself can still interact awkwardly with the rest of the outfit.
Use a short local outing to assess the arrangement before taking it farther. Follow the care label afterwards and check that the fit remains suitable once dry. Note the exact task that failed if you compare another pair. Saying the glove made the jacket zip difficult is more useful than a vague judgement about bulk, and helps you decide whether to change the glove, the fastening arrangement or simply the timing of the task.
